Caltrate SELECT contains:

600 mg of calcium carbonate (elemental calcium)

400 IU of vitamin D (cholecalciferol) per tablet

Vitamin D helps in the maintenance of strong bones and good health. It increases calcium absorption by as much as 30% to 80%. Sunshine is our main source of vitamin D. However, in Canada, for about 5 months of the year, the sun does not generate sufficient vitamin D to meet our daily requirements. Canada's Food Guide recommends that adults over 50 take a vitamin D supplement.

Adult Dosage: One or two tablets daily with food or as recommended by a physician. Tablet may be broken in half for convenience. Take a few hours before or after taking other medications.
